Facilities
We are very lucky that Wolfson Hillel is on the site of an old secondary school and therefore we have lots of spaces to enhance our learning.
We have 3 halls- An assembly hall, dining hall and gym.
We also have a purpose built EYFS space for our nursery and reception children, a library, art room. music room/ Ivrit room, well being room and sensory room.
Every year group has an extra classroom that can be used to facilitate our 3 teacher model as well as for interventions and to spread out for small group work.
We have a large main playground with pitches, an exciting climbing frame, an outdoor gym and a multi-use games area. We also have a separate playground for our nursery and reception children which is used all day long for learning!
We have a private nursery on our site for children aged 6 months until they join the Hillel nusery.

Gymnasium / P.E.
At Wolfson Hillel Primary, all the children from Nursery through to Year 6 have opportunities to enjoy physical exercise, whether outside in our well designed playgrounds, or inside, in our purpose built gymnasium. Children of all abilities are able to perform in a range of activities enhancing their physical competence and confidence, whilst building on their skills and physical development.
We take part in Maccabi events and compete against other Jewish Primary schools in sports such as Football and Netball. Each year we represent our school at the Israeli Dance Festival.
Library
We are very proud of our bright and spacious school Library which has a diverse range of books, both Jewish and secular, fiction and non-fiction, for all ages from Foundation Stage through to Year 6. The Library has a computerised database system and the books are shelved using a colour coded scheme and the Dewey Decimal Classification system.
Once a week all the classes have a Library lesson during which they have time to borrow books, research topics or read. We have a wide variety of reference books including poetry, history, geography, multicultural, technology, etc.
Our Jewish fiction books are varied and suitable for all age groups. The Jewish non-fiction books are categorised under several headings including Jewish Living, Jewish Year, Jewish History, Tefillah, Torah, Israel, Holocaust and Hebrew Language.
Donate a Library Book Scheme
As we like to continually replenish our Library with newly published and current books we run a scheme whereby parents can donate £5, £10 or more dedicated to their child/ren for their birthday.
This money is used to purchase a new book and the name of the child is inscribed inside. The books are placed on the shelves and can be borrowed by the whole school. We always endeavour to buy books suitable for the birthday child’s age group so that he/she can enjoy them too.
If you would like to donate a book please ask for the Birthday Book letter from the school office.
