School Meals

In the JC, prominent chef and food writer Denise Phillips named Wolfson Hillel one of her ‘food champions’, describing the School as an “example for every school on how to operate nutritious and successful school dinners.”

Our school meals are healthy, tasty and good value for money; all our food is prepared to rigorous nutritional standards.  We have consulted with the children on the menu choices.  We regulary review our ingredients to ensure that they contain minimum additives and no harmful products whilst ensuring that all products we serve are Kosher.  The school's kitchen is meaty and is supervised by the London Beth Din.

There are choices each day and where possible we cater to individual dietary requirements. We cater to children with allergies and intolerances through a shared partnership meeting with the parents to discuss the risks and any adjustments required to the menu.

Lunches are paid half termly in advance.

Your child is eligible for free school meals if you’re in receipt of one of the following benefits:

  • Universal Credit with an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400.
  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The guarantee element of Pension Credit
  • Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for the four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)
  • Child Tax Credit (with no Working Tax Credit) with an annual income of no more than £16,190
